About Small Town Records

OK, where to start...

The label was born in Summer 2004 when Pete Small Town saw Penknifelovelife play at a dingy venue in Bradford called The Market Tavern. Their live show was enough to convince him that the band had potential. After trying to help the band sign to Punktastic Recordings, which fell through, Pete put his money where his mouth was and commited to releasing their EP on his own, and so Small Town Records began.

February 2005 saw Penknifelovelife's debut EP go on sale, along with a label launch night at The Packhorse in Leeds, which also featured Bring Me The Horizon and Enter Shikari.

Since then, Small Town Records has clocked up nearly 50 releases, ranging from Screamo, Metal, Hardcore, Punk, Emo, Pop Punk and Indie.

Our bands have toured the world over and played festivals such as Leeds / Reading, Dowload, SXSW, Taste of Chaos, T in the Park and In The City.

We are distributed by PIAS UK, so you'll find all our releases in all major music stores in the UK and in all main digital stores over the world.

In 2009 we split the label in to two halves, creating two sides, like a vinyl or cassette tape if you will. We now present you with; Side A and Side B.

Side A works with the punk-rock and metal bands on the roster (Fei Comodo, Failsafe, Shadows Chasing Ghosts and Templeton Pek) whilst Side B is home to the indie and pop-rock (Telegraphs, Cuba Cuba, Klaus, The Muscle Club.)

Whilst both sides will operate a little more independently, all releases will remain under the Small Town Records name.

Here is to the next five years...
